The SCCA Fall Speedfest presented by the South Bend and Detroit Regions will offer three opportunities for you to participate in SCCA road racing. A summary can be found below, but for more details be sure to check the Supplemental Regulations. If you have any questions please feel free to contact us.

SCCA Double Regional
Anybody with a SCCA Competition License, SCCA Novice Permit, Waterford Hills License and/or Midwest Council license is eligible to compete.

SCCA Club Racing Experience(CRE)
This is wheel-to-wheel racing but it is less intense than SCCA Regional racing. We still have rolling starts and checkered flags, but car-to-car contact is strictly forbidden. A SCCA Competition License is NOT required. If you have a production-based race car, you should consider running the CRE if any of the following apply:

  • You are running the double regional and you want more track time.
  • You have never raced before and you would like to try it for the first time.
  • You want to let a crew member or friend race your car  for a one session, two sessions or all weekend.

For more information on CRE, check out: https://www.scca.com/pages/club-race-experience

SCCA Alternate Driver School(ADS)
Our ADS is very similar to a full SCCA Driver School, but you must compete in a production-based race car.  You will get classroom instruction, lots of track time, and an instructor to observe and guide you through your weekend. If you satisfy the requirements of the Lead Instructor you will walk away from the weekend with a SCCA Novice Permit which will allow you to compete in SCCA Regional racing events.

Before attending the ADS, you must complete the online training at: https://sccatraining.com/scca-south-bend-region-drivers-school-registration/
