SUMMARY:Autocross (Solo) Event #6 (Hoosier Challenge and GLDiv Solo Series Event)
DESCRIPTION:We will have a short cone course built with a laser timing system. Course last anywhere from 40 to 60 seconds. Come hangout and enjoy the company of motorsports finest amateur racers. It’s a race car if you race it! \nGrissom Aeroplex\, Bunker Hill\, IN \nRain or Shine \nGates open at 7am or sunrise\, whichever is later. \n7:30-9:00:Registration open \n7:30-9:00:Tech open \n8:00-9:15:Course available for walking once Safety Steward has cleared it \n9:00-9:15:Novice drivers walk (highly encouraged) \n9:30-9:45:Drivers meeting (mandatory) \n10:00:First car off \nScheduled times and run/work orders are subject to change due to location restrictions and conditions. \nRegistration Fee: \n$TBD for current SCCA members \n$TBD for non-members signing a weekend membership \nRun/Work \nRun/work assignments for Sunday will be pre-assigned based on the entry list\, and in a manner that balances heat sizes and worker coverage. Workers should be ready to report for work before their heat begins. Heat changeovers will be brief. Please listen for announcements made by the Chief of Workers and be on time for your work assignment. Lateness may be taken as a no-show and result in disqualification.

DESCRIPTION:About this event\n\n\nSaturday\, September 26th\, 8:00AM- 4:00PM \nThe primary emphasis of the Tire Rack Street Survival® is a “hands-on” driving experience in real-world situations! We use your own car to teach you about its handling limits and how you can control them. The students will become more observant of the traffic situation they find themselves in. They will learn to look far enough ahead to anticipate unwise actions of other drivers. As the students master the application of physics to drive their cars\, they will make fewer unwise driving actions themselves. They will understand why they should always wear their own seatbelts\, and why they should insist that their passengers wear seatbelts\, too. \nIt’s about more than driving – it’s about LIVING! \nThree parents\, including Scott Goodyear\, former Indy Car Champion\, share their perspectives in this video. \nAll Schools $175. \nSee our FAQ page at: www.streetsurvival.org/frequently-asked-questions.php \nAny questions after reviewing the FAQ page call Tim Beechuk\, Program Manager\, @864-438-2060 (8 am – 8 pm EST) \n\n\n\n\n\n\nEvent requirements\n\nParents are encouraged to stay!  Please arrive early. \nVehicles with modifications that alter the center of gravity (i.e. lift kits) are not acceptable. \nAll minors and their parents must complete SCCA’s required waivers. Please watch this Tire Rack Street Survival Minor Waivers Video for step-by-step instructions. \nHigh Center of Gravity Vehicles (HCGs) such as SUVs\, SAVs\, Trucks\, Jeep-type vehicles\, and Minivans will need to be verified.  The older HCGs without electronic stability control (not just the electronic traction control) will not be accepted. \nHCG vehicles may still be limited with respect to the exercises in which they are allowed to participate based on local venue conditions. \nPlease look up the HCG vehicle safety score. You can research the safety ratings that a vehicle has received at www.edmunds.com  Input the vehicle and year and look at the safety rating in the upper right corner of the web page. \nThis review is for HCG vehicles only. Passenger cars do not need to be reviewed. \nAny vehicle with a listing of 3 stars or more out of 5 in the Roll Over test will be allowed to participate in our class. We are concerned about the Roll Over test on the HCG only. We are not concerned about the crash test ratings. \nAny HCG vehicle listed as “not tested” in the Roll Over test will not be allowed to participate. \nALL COMMUNICATION REGARDING THE SCHOOL WILL BE SENT TO THE E-MAIL ADDRESS ON THE REGISTRATION LISTED AS THE STUDENT’S.
